UnderOne Festival 2024
Tania Gerard Joins Leading Voices at UnderOne Festival to Champion Neurodiversity
The UnderOne Festival, a global gathering that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), I was recently welcomed (Tania), to speak and moderate on a prominent panel. The festival, known for its commitment to fostering inclusive communities and innovative ideas in the Panel Discussion E: Diverse Minds, Inclusive Spaces: Embracing Neurodiversity Together. This panel was a highlight of the event, held on the main stage, and attracted a diverse audience eager to learn about the power of neurodiversity in the workplace.
The Panelists
Joining myself on stage were several notable figures:
Hannah Litt: A social justice activist and consultant known for her passionate advocacy for marginalised communities.
Tumi Sotire: The founder of The Black Dyspraxic, an organisation that raises awareness and supports individuals with dyspraxia.
Alex Manners: A renowned neurodiversity and autism speaker, Asperger's champion, presenter, and author.
Together, we brought a wealth of experience and insight, contributing to a rich and engaging discussion on the importance of neurodiversity.
Key Topics Discussed
During the session, we delved into key topics such as understanding neurodiversity in the workplace, creating inclusive spaces, and leveraging neurodiverse talent for organisational success. I was particularly keen to share my insights on the importance of tailored approaches when supporting neurodivergent individuals, as I believe that one-size-fits-all solutions often fall short. My aim was to illustrate how businesses can go beyond accommodation and truly celebrate neurodiverse talents, making them an integral part of their companies success.
