Featured in Express & Star: Putting the Black Country on the Map for Inclusion
I’m so proud to share that I’ve been featured in the Express & Star business section in an article titled: “Meet the woman putting the Black Country on the map for inclusion.”
When I started Tania Gerard Digital, I had a clear mission: to make marketing more accessible and to help businesses support neurodivergent individuals, not just with awareness, but with action. I never imagined that in just 12 months, that mission would be recognised in the press, let alone in a headline like this.
The feature dives into the story behind my consultancy: how being diagnosed with ADHD and autism in adulthood inspired me to change the way companies communicate. It covers how I built the UK’s first accessible marketing consultancy, the work I’ve done with brands like the NHS, Greene King, and Swim England, and the personal milestones along the way, including becoming an ADHD UK Ambassador and delivering my first TEDx talk.
But what truly makes this piece special is that it goes beyond titles and logos. It talks about why inclusion matters. Why marketing should be clear, calm, and human. Why hiring practices need to evolve. And why it’s time the business world reflected the full spectrum of people within it, especially those of us who have been historically overlooked.
The Black Country has a long legacy of industry, innovation, and community spirit. Being recognised for helping shape the next chapter, one that’s more inclusive, more understanding, and more accessible truly means everything to me.
Huge thanks to the team at Express & Star for helping shine a light on this work and giving space to voices pushing for systemic change.
