TEDxTamworth

Tania Gerard speaks at TEDXTamworth.

This year, something happened that still feels surreal: I stood on the famous, iconic red dot and gave my first ever TEDx talk. The title of my talk was “Accessible Marketing: A Small Shift for Big Impact,” and it was delivered as part of TEDxTamworth’s 2025 event, held at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms.

To be honest, when I first applied, I wasn’t sure I’d even make it past the first round. I don’t fit the “traditional” speaker mould. I’m neurodivergent, I talk fast, I get passionate, and sometimes I go off-script. But that’s exactly what TEDxTamworth embraced. They gave me a platform to speak from my heart about a topic that’s at the core of everything I do: making marketing more human, more accessible, and more inclusive.

Why This Talk Matters

Accessible marketing is the foundation of my work at Tania Gerard Digital. It means rethinking how we communicate, so people with different brains, backgrounds, and experiences feel seen, respected, and included.

My talk explored how small, thoughtful shifts, like clearer language, better visual layouts, or inclusive campaigns, can lead to massive positive change.

I know what it’s like to feel shut out by traditional systems, and I want to help companies break those walls down, from the inside.

Behind the Scenes of TEDx

What people don’t see is the work behind the scenes, the support, the rewriting, the rehearsals (and the times I went completely off script during them!). I had imposter syndrome, I was nervous, but I kept reminding myself: if just one person watches this talk and feels seen or inspired to make a change, it’s worth it.

The energy in the room was truly amazing. The TEDxTamworth team was full of heart and made every speaker feel supported, not judged. And afterwards? So many people came up to share their own stories. That meant the world.

What’s Next?

The talk will be published on the official TEDx YouTube channel later this year, and I’ll be sharing it across my socials and newsletter when it’s live.

In the meantime, if your company or team wants to learn more about accessible marketing or neurodiversity in business, I’d love to talk. You can check out my services here, or drop me a message to collaborate.

Speaking at TEDx was a dream come true, not for the stage, but for the message. I truly believe that accessible marketing isn’t just better for business. It’s better for everyone.
